Bank of America: Another Bank on Broadway (Whoopee!)

I noticed construction starting on what used to be the Gruen Optical shop on Broadway at the North East corner of 87th Street. It was quite an operation, but I couldn't figure out what it was. Today I passed by and saw (via exposed blueprints in the window): Bank of America. I wonder if they will sell groceries? How many bank accounts do we need?

I think it will all end soon. Columbus has many open stores for rent, meaning they've banked out and they've gone too high for small businesses and fortunately I think after the Gap and Blockbuster failed on 86th the chains have decided to stay away from Columbus. Now we'll have to see if Columbus and Broadway have any real estate relationship. Of course there's still Bank Leumi - an obvious for the Upper west Side
