The lovely wife had to go downtown for a work meeting yesterday. All was not lost, as she stopped at Grandaisy Bakery, which is located at 73 Sullivan Street (212-334-9435). Her purchase: the above photographed Semi di Sesamo. An exceptional loaf of bread, with an incredible crust, a great inside, and pretty tasty sesame seeds, to boot. Of course, I now know that they also have a location here on the Upper West Side as well: at 176 West 72nd Street. That far downtown even I can get to! Hopefully, the rest of their baked goods are as fantastic as that bread was. I will let you know.
